Mrs. Nedjra M. Russell

Assistant Principal

  • Serving to Effect Positive Transformation is the vision Nedjra seeks to achieve in the lives of all people she encounters.  Her vision statement is a testament to the work she has done for more than 30 years.  She began her career in Early Childhood Education as a Home Daycare provider for the Air Force.  She did not travel the traditional collegiate path but worked on her education while she and her husband raised their four children and ran the Home Daycare business.  They moved to Madison in 2006.  Eventually, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Athens State University.  She then earned a Master of Education from the University of Alabama Huntsville in differentiated instruction.  Her second Master's degree in administration is from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  Nedjra served as a Room Lead for the Madison pre-K Center for six years.  Her leadership in the classroom and at the State level impacted countless children and their families and was inspirational in her desire to become a Madison Aspiring Assistant Principal (MAAP) for Rainbow Elementary School.  While there, she became the Assistant Principal and served in that position for three years.  Nedjra's hobbies are reading, writing, quilting, and baking and cooking for family and friends.  Her favorite of all though is traveling the world with her husband.  Nedjra's passion for serving is what continues to drive her to positively impact the lives of others.
