Mrs. Lindsey May
I’m Lindsey May, and I’m delighted to be a teacher and coach here at James Clemens. Currently, I teach English 9 and On the Radar, and I also coach Basketball Cheerleading.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education: English Language Arts from The University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2022. My main goal as an educator is to foster a safe, equitable, and respectful learning environment where students can truly thrive. I’m dedicated to inspiring a love of reading in my students and helping them find the perfect book that resonates with them.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with my family. I’m an active aunt to my 14-year-old nephew, 8-year-old niece, and 5-year-old nephew, who bring a lot of joy into my life. At home, I’m also accompanied by my two rescue fur-babies: Khaleesi, a sweet and sassy 7-year-old cat, and Bailey, a lively 4-year-old Dachshund mix with a big personality. Although I’ve lived all over the United States as an Army brat, I consider Florence, Alabama my hometown because it’s where I lived the longest. My husband and I have been together for nearly 10 years and have been happily married for 1 year.
I’m thrilled to be part of this school community and look forward to making a positive impact with my students. Go Jets!
