.Late Arrivals/Early Checkouts: All late arrivals and early check-outs must be processed through the front office. Please note that is important for your child to arrive to school on time. School starts each day at 7:40 am
Absences: When your child is absent, please send a written excuse with your child on his/her first day back. We have to count each absence as unexcused if we do not have a written excuse on file. Note: It is the student's responsibility to request and complete any make-up work. Please refer to the Madison City Code of Conduct for more information.
Assignment Notebook: Each student will be expected to write down any homework assignments daily in their planner. Your child should bring home this planner every day. This is the responsibility of each individual student. One of our goals for the year will be to help fifth graders learn to be responsible and work on organization. Please ask to see this planner everyday.
Money: Please send any money to school in an enclosed envelope with your child's name, homeroom teacher, and designated purpose clearly written on the front.
Medication: Please remember that teachers are not allowed to give any medication to students. Please contact the school nurse for any questions regarding medications.
Snack: There will be a designated snack time during the day. Please pack your child a nutritious snack to enjoy during this time.
Transportation: A child's mode of transportation cannot be altered without a note signed and dated by a parent/guardian. If you email transportation changes, please make sure you send a copy to Cindy Moeller and Michael Gunner. This will help in case there is a substitute teacher.
Late Work Policy: All assignments are due on the assigned due date. If a child fails to complete the assignment on the due date, he or she will be given 3 days to complete the assignment before it results in a zero. A late penalty of 15 points per day will be assigned to the assignment for every day it is late. Please Note: A missing assignment form must be signed by a parent or guardian along with the assignment before it will be received once it is late.
