Mrs. Kristi Combs
Born and raised in Madison County, I am proud to come from a long line of educators including my husband, father, and grandfather, along with aunts, uncles and cousins, all who have contributed to Madison County and Madison City Schools. I am a graduate of Sparkman High School and local university, Athens State. I am also a graduate from the prestigious MFA program at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky.
I was in classroom for fourteen years instructing students at a variety of levels in Language Arts from remedial to Advanced Placement. Regardless of the class or level, my expectations for my students were always the same, higher than they ever believed possible, and many students rose to those expectations. I feel the same about teachers in my position as Instructional Partner. Teachers need encouragement and motivation just like their students. I have high expectations for the teachers I partner with, and they always risen to meet them. I am a resource to educators, their partner. By providing teachers with what they need to grow and improve, they in turn create an atmosphere of growth for their students. Using the partnership principles of equality, choice, voice, reflection, dialogue, praxis and reciprocity, I impact schools in the best way I can.
