    Birch Creek Elementary 2023-2024

Birch Creek Elementary will focus on three goals for the upcoming school year.

Goal #1:  Birch Creek Elementary will work to meet the behavioral/emotional needs of our students by extending our 1/2-time counselor's position to full time.

Our counselor will create goals to meet the needs of all stake-holders at Birch Creek Elementary.

    Action Plan:

    1. Our counselor will provide monthly classroom presentations for all grade levels.
    2. Our counselor will teach specific classroom skills to students that may be struggling, due to information provided by the teacher and/or parents.
    3. Our counselor will work closely with the district supervisors and peers to follow the district programs.
    4. Our counselor will work closely with school administration and teachers to determine areas of needed support.
    5. Our counselor will meet with our TAG team to meet the behavioral needs of students.
    6. Our counselor will purchase regulating tools to help students in the classroom.
    7. We will continue using the Leader in Me Curriculum for our social skills curriculum.
    8. We will focus on monthly acts of kindness with student lead teams purchasing shirts for all students to share in our kindness culture.

This goal falls under the category of Behavior Support-Multitiered.  $29,503 has been allocated to this goal.

Goal #2:  As a school by the middle of the 2023-2024 school year, the median progress towards typical growth will be 50% (or higher) at the MOY iReady Diagnostic Assessment.

We will be using Chromebooks to take the iReady Assessment three times this year.  Chapter assessments, with the GoMath Curriculum, will also be given at every grade level. The principal will be responsible for collecting final scores to see if our goal has been met.

    Action Plan:

    1. Students will take the iReady Math Assessment 3 times a year using chromebooks. These assessments will help us determine how to group students to meet their instructional needs.  PLC teams will meet to  guide instruction for reteaching, reinforcing, or enrichment.  We will use the i-Ready My Path Individualized Learning to address student's learning gaps in mathematics.
    2. Students will participate in 30 minutes of Tier II Math instruction daily.
    3. A team of teachers from our school will attend the Solution Tree PLC conference in Salt Lake City.  This platform will help our PLC teams establish patterns more quickly in order to guide instruction for reteaching, reinforcing, and enrichment.
    4. Paraeducators will support Tier II math instruction in classrooms.

This goal falls under the category of highest Academic Need/Technology.

Goal #3:  As a school we will provide additional support in a determined high need grade level. We were allocated 25.5 FTE (full time educators) for the 2023-2024 school year. Funds will be used to support the other 1/2 of a teacher salary making it possible for us to have 26 FTEs.

The teacher will provide necessary support for a high impact (enrollment or needs based) grade level.

    Action Plan:

This teacher will work with their team level to coordinate their students to receive the same curriculum and instruction as the other students in the grade level.

This goal falls under the category of Highest Academic Need and Technology.  We have allocated $62,855 for this goal.

Our total TSSA Funds for 2023-2024 is $137,359
