Review Positive Behavior Plan:
Anne Fisher (PBIS team from Birch Creek)
- Leader in Me
- Boys Town
- ***Throughout the school, we have the TOTEM program for consistency, focusing on the same rules in every classroom.
- In March, we will have kindness week with matching kindness shirts
- TAG team meets to identify students who need extra help, teachers bring in students that they need support with.
- Each month we highlight students for the monthly Leader in Me habit 3 from each class.
- Mrs. Jex works on teaching social skills and emotional resilience
- Kindness Awards that Mrs. Wilson hands out
Safety Routes:
Mayor Monson:
- New lights for crosswalk on 6th west
- Wrote a grant to slow traffic— speed limit lights for 10 sets within the city of Smithfield.
- Match program– About $9,000 a set (really hoping for the grant)
- Mrs. Wilson calls her directly to ask for help with different issues.
- If Smithfield city doesn’t know there's a problem, how can they fix it?
- Still worried about the Temple and traffic that will arise.
- Sidewalks by the fire station next to the railroad tracks
- It’s not worth opening that “can of worms”
- Kaitlyn noticed that it is paved on both sides but then a block and half where there's no sidewalk

- iReady Math: 50% or higher and we are at 56%
- TSSA Budget: Still doing good, just para pro

- Friday, March 3, 2023 is the last day to nominate
- The committee loves to read the parent letters

Thursday, January 6th, there’s a safe technology assembly for parents at Summit Elementary.
Nick Sales- - - is the presenter
Kathy Christiansen:
- HB 215– chipping away at money that’s been earmarked for public education.
- The vouchers (Utah Fits All) will pull away money for public education and put it into private education.
