Suggested Teacher and Certified Staff Training
Cache County School District provides access to various technology applications, programs, and devices, such as Gmail, the Google Suite, Canvas, GoGuardian, PowerTeacher, Gradebook, and more. The district offers plenty of training opportunities for new teachers to learn how to use these technology systems and also plan for their upcoming teaching assignments. All of the training for these systems, and more, is contained in Catalog. For help with Catalog, contact Andrew Clark (andrew.clark@ccsdut.org).

Canvas is CCSD’s Learning Management System (LMS). An LMS is a software application used for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting and delivery of educational courses. In this course, we will demonstrate how a Learning Management System can be used to aid/enhance classroom instruction.Link: Using Gmail with a CCSD District Google Account
In this course, we will demonstrate how to effectively use CCSD Gmail to send/receive/forward emails, as well as give some tips and tricks on how to keep emails organized.Link: Using Google Drive (Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Sharing
Each Google account comes with access to a Google Drive which is a place where files can be stored and accessed via the Internet. Learners will discover how to effectively use their Google Drive to create and share files with others who have Google accounts.Link: Using Google Calendars
Every district employee has a district calendar where they can add meetings, appointments, etc. In this course, we will demonstrate how to add/edit/delete calendar events on a personal calendar. Learners will be able to create a new calendar and learn how to share it so that others may view or edit events on that calendar.Link: Creating and Using Google Forms
Forms are an effective way to collect information from others via survey. Learners will see how to create, send, and use a Google Form using their district Google account. The course will also demonstrate how to store the data from the form in a Google spreadsheet.Link: Google Classroom
Google Classroom is a streamlined, easy-to-use tool that helps teachers manage coursework. After completing this course learners will be able to prepare their own Google Classroom using their district Google account.Link: Using GoGuardian Teacher with Chrome Devices
GoGuardian allows a teacher to view student activity and control access for students using Chrome devices in their classroom. In this course, learners will see GoGuardian in action and learn how to set up and control access for their classrooms and their students.Link: Using PowerTeacher
PowerSchool is CCSD’s student information system. In this course, the various screens within PowerTeacher will be explained and demonstrated.Link: Canvas’ New Quizzes
The new quizzes feature in Canvas provides teachers with the ability to create agile quiz questions to better assess what students understand. In this course, we will demonstrate all quiz question types, as well as the quiz settings and the best way to disseminate quizzes to students.Link: Short Throw Projectors
Short throw projectors provide the capability to project a computer screen on the whiteboard, even in bright lighting. Inside this program are 13 courses describing how to use a short throw projector to its full potential.Link: DIR-S
This course will cover the DIR-S Basics. DIR-S is a tool that allows school staff, school and district administrators, emergency personnel, and 911 dispatch to all be on the same page during an emergency. All DIR-S users can see in real-time which rooms in a school are safe or unsafe, updates and important information, and which students are missing and found.Link: How to Get Technology Help
This course will introduce the technology Help Desk ticket system. A ticket system is used to help manage our district’s technology needs. In this course, participants will see a demonstration of how to submit a technology help ticket. This course will demonstrate how to use the Self-Service site which is used to view employee pay and verify or update tax withholding information. The Self-Service site also allows employees to see their leave balances, personal information, and other district employment opportunities.Link: General Health Training (optional depending on role)
