Growth Mindset!
There are two mindsets that exist in each of us: a fixed mindset and a growth mindset.
Fixed Mindset: is the belief that we're born with a fixed amount of intelligence and ability. People operating in the fixed mindset are prone to avoiding challenges and failures.
Growth Mindset: is the belief that with practice, perseverance, and effort, people have limitless potential to learn and grow. People operating in the growth mindset tackle challenges with self-confidence, unconcerned with making mistakes or being embarrassed. They are focused instead on the process of growth.
At Adams we believe in teaching students about having a growth mindset. We honor mistakes, because we know that it is by those mistakes that learning takes place. When students say they can't do something we add the word YET to their sentence. We are committed to all students learning at high levels. We believe that begins with teaching them how their brain works and that with practice, perseverance, and effort they will attain their goals
