Engaged Eagles

Volunteer

Each year Lincoln Charter challenges all families to contribute a minimum of 30 hours of their time to benefit the LCS community.  Described in the original charter, having a family atmosphere and involved parents creates a warm, inviting and productive environment. Thank you for your willingness to share your time and skills to benefit our school community.

What is an Engaged Eagle?

An Engaged Eagle is an adult family member, guardian and/or relative, who engages in volunteering at Lincoln Charter School. This means you!  Your time and talents are what make Lincoln Charter an extra special place. Consider the difference you will make in a young person's life when you volunteer.

What is the Engaged Eagle Challenge?

LCS challenges you to volunteer 30 hours per year.  These hours accumulate quickly when divided between the 10 months of the school year!

Why Engage?

You can make a positive difference in your child’s future each time you step onto campus. Research shows that every student benefits from having adult volunteers involved in their education. It develops role model relationships, creates opportunities for children to communicate with other adults, and it allows the teacher to work individually with students having difficulties.

Does LCS know that I am busy and don’t have time to volunteer?

Yes! We value you and the time that you offer to our school. There are varied volunteer opportunities with flexible timing options, and our Volunteer Coordinator can work with you to find daytime, evening, or weekend opportunities to donate your time.

How does an Engaged Eagle get volunteer hours?

Click on your campus Sign Up Genius above and follow the prompts on SignUpGenius.com. You will be signed up to volunteer and your time will automatically be recorded.   Remember that students must use the website called X2Vol, but this is only for students.

How does an Engaged Eagle log extra volunteer hours?

Keep track of the volunteer hours that you complete for extra projects and leadership roles for Lincoln Charter School. Click your campus Sign Up Genius, click “Log your hours," follow the prompts, and your time will be recorded. There are countless hours that have not been recorded yet, so please take a few minutes to go online, make an account, and document your time. Note that you may still use the Presidential website for logging volunteer hours in places other than Lincoln Charter.
