Common Core Standards for English/Language Arts:
SD113A utilizes two curriculum resources to assist students in demonstrating proficiency in English Language Arts.
Reading Horizons:
Reading Horizons is a research-based program that teaches explicit decoding and spelling strategies, along with sight word recognition and vocabulary instruction.
Amplify:
SD113A also utilizes Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) for students in Kindergarten - 5th grade. Amplify CKLA includes a knowledge-building component as well as instruction in foundational skills, with the intention of developing strong readers, writers, and thinkers.
At middle school, we have implemented Amplify ELA. This resource requires students tackle complex text and make inferences, consider with new ideas, and make meaning from multiple sources.
