Hello this is Mr. Henry with an important informational

call and email for KiBe High School

Hello and I hope this call and email finds you all successfully working through our new world with quarantine restrictions.

As a district we have all been processing through many “Zoom” meetings with our local leaders, state Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, State Board of Education and the Association of Washington Secondary Principals to figure out how to support ALL students and especially our senior class to cross the line for graduation and continue 9th through 11th grade personal educational enrichment. There is good news in some areas and more planning for other areas. I keep saying to the people in Olympia that it seems as though we are still building the plane as we’re flying it.

First, ALL students will have the opportunity through our district website to continue your personal educational enrichment. Yes, it will be different but it is our current reality. Please go to the school district web page at www.kibesd.org  and you will find our “Online Resources” link, click on that link and a new page will open to Online Educational Resources. Scroll down to 9-12 grade band click and then a window will open with content areas. Click on the appropriate grade level and start your personal educational enrichment per content. Content areas will be continuously replaced on an as needed time frame. That would be up to each teacher and what learning enrichment activities that they choose to provided.

Second, SENIORS: If you are a senior that was credit deficient and you were scheduled for credit retrieval through Edgenuity (E2020) or APEX, then you must keep processing through the classes that you have to make up to graduate on time. You MUST demonstrate that you are working continuously to be able to pass the needed classes online. Mr. Burke and Mrs. Grey are available to support you online. If you have their phone number that they have passed out, then you could use that if needed. All other seniors that were on track to “graduate on time’ at the time of school being shutdown, will need to complete personal educational enrichment activities. Also, seniors in “Running Start” or College in the High School must complete your classes as the college or university require. We have no authority over the requirements of Community Colleges or Universities.

Finally, A GREAT big thank you to the Food Services department and Ms. Jennifer Long and all of her staff for their amazing job providing meals for all of students. We are here to support you all throughout this difficult and challenging time. Please contact your teacher/counselor/administrator via their school email. My email is chenry@kibesd.org if you have any questions or concerns.

~SPRING BREAK:  April 4th – 12th will still be during this time and we do not expect any student or teacher to have to do school work during this time.

It’s a GREAT day to be a KiBe Bear!
