What is Transitions?
Transitions is an advisory program designed to help students build learning skills and soft skills needed for post-secondary success.
The teacher acts as an advisor to connect with and guide students through decisions needed to start their post-secondary journey. They focus on building positive relationships and helping students plan for the future.
Lesson topics include digital citizenship, developing study habits, self-regulating practices, setting goals, networking, communication, and post-secondary planning.
What happens in Transitions?
Monday
- Watch the jetHD weekly announcements.
- Participate in weekly discussions and gatherings to develop community within the class.
- Complete a digital citizenship lesson three times per semester.
Friday
- Complete weekly grade reflections.
- Conduct 1:1 conferences with the Transitions teacher.
- Guided work practice time for studying and homework completion.
