Seventh Grade Life Science
Life Science is a seventh grade course that provides students with the opportunity to study living things from the six kingdoms. Students will explore cell structure and learn the differences between plant, animal, and bacterial cells. Students will also investigate human body systems, learning the anatomy and physiology of each and how various body systems work together to keep the human body functioning properly. Students will learn about environmental and global issues which effect our world and how populations of animals make adaptations which make them better suited to live in their environments.
Hands-on activities are stressed and include student discovery, laboratory experiments, problem solving, model building, cooperative learning, computer labs, classroom discussions, teacher demonstrations, and writing opportunities for research and self-expression. Students are introduced to the use of scientific tools and methods used for investigations throughout the course.
