While in seventh grade English, students will cover multiple subjects in literature, grammar, and writing. Students will be required to read short stories, poems, and novels. Not only will students review grammar and mechanics learned in earlier grades, but they will also cover new grammar rules required by the course of study. Students will be required to write literary analysis essays and will frequently write AEC paragraphs (assertion, evidence, commentary) after reading.
Students in advanced English 7 will not only be required to work at a faster pace than students in English 7, but will also cover material in greater depth.
