  • Offer Vs. Serve

Crestline lunchroom participates in the Offer vs. Serve, where each child has the right to refuse 2 items from the food bar.  New guidelines in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs are being implemented this year.  Everyday, 5 meal components will be offered:  Milk, Meat/Meat Alternative, Vegetable, Fruit, & Grain.  Each child MUST choose 3 of these 5 components,  AND 1 of them MUST be either a vegetable or fruit. To help the students remember this, red circles will be displayed above every vegetable and fruit choice each day.  This will help them know they MUST pick up at least one of these items.  Students may choose to purchase extra food, snacks, or ice cream, providing they do not have an outstanding balance on their account.  Please discuss with your child what you wish for them to purchase and how much they may spend.
