• If you have any questions that you would like reviewed by the Hardin Administration, please email publicquestions@hardinisd.net and we will post answers to our most common questions on this page.  The answers are provided by the Hardin ISD Administrators, those include Principals, Assistant Principals, Counselors and Team Leaders to best provide an answer to those questions.


    • Will the school provide devices for the kids for the online learning?
      • We are working with Region 4 to acquire additional Chromebooks and Windows Laptops.  In addition, students / families who already have devices can use those for the interim for the virtual learning.  This would grant other family’s opportunities to use a device too.

     

    • Will the students still be able to get their chrome books and with working virtually what will be the times they have to be on?

      • Attendance will be taken virtually by 10am.  Lessons can be downloaded at your child’s leisure.  Assignments must be completed as directed by classroom teacher.  (This information may change as more information becomes available from TEA)

     

    • How does extra activities work (ex- dance team)?
      • If your child is virtual, they will be allowed to participate in extra-curricular activities before or after school 

     

    • If grades prek-2 are not wearing masks and it says they will be with 1 teacher throughout the day does that mean no electives? No art, music, technology, or P.E.?
      • Students will be allowed to participate in electives.  IE: Art, Music, Technology, PE

     

    • I have a question regarding the hotspot with Verizon y’all are working with.  Will y’all be sending out information about how to go about to get that assistance?
      • We will be gathering information as part of the online enrollment questions.  This will include information about internet and devices you currently have in your possession.  (Hotspots location info) 

     

    • My daughter is in 1st grade. Does she need a PC for her at home schooling? The one we have will not work will the school furnish one if she needs it for home schooling?
      • Instructional lessons will be provided from PreK – 2nd in a hard copy format. 

     

    • My daughter a 1st grader requires speech training due to her hearing problems. Will the school furnish a PC to allow for this training?
      • Yes, and we will meet all requirements according to that child’s IEP. As Hardin ISD prepares to return to school, any concerns that parents may have with the current implementation of your child's continuity plan or any other question regarding your student's special education program, we encourage you to request an ARD committee meeting with your student's campus to discuss your concerns. 

     

    • Will Hardin be providing devices for children to access online courses, Specifically our children in elementary and middle school?
      • Students will be provided instructional lessons in hard copy format from PreK – 2nd grade.  From 3rd grade to 12th a device per family will be provided

     

    • When will Chromebooks be issued/reissued to our high school children?
      • Device handout (1 per family) will be scheduled on Aug 11th and Aug 12th from 7am – 9am and 5pm to 8pm each day.  The devices will require a signature from the family to accept responsibility for the device. 

     

    • How will ap/college classes be handled? My daughter has enrolled through you with lee college. Will lee college allow for virtual learning?
      • Dual credit courses offered through Lee College will be either virtual or hybrid during the Fall semester. All academic courses will be offered virtually and technical courses (Process Tech, Electrical, Cosmetology) will be hybrid.

     

    • What about internet?
      • Hardin ISD is working with Region 4 to acquire Verizon Mobile hotspots for those students who currently have limited or no internet connectivity. In addition, we will be extending the Wi-Fi for Hardin ISD students to the school parking lots as well as acquiring mobile stations to place at the churches at the north end of Hardin ISD. Region 4 is creating a program “Texas Home Learning 3.0” which will be capable of being downloaded to devices and will not require internet to function.

     

    • What about the kids that need modified learning?
