Foundation for FGC Scholarship Application
More than $600,000 in scholarship funds are available.
Once you’re admitted to FGC, complete the short application to be matched with available scholarships!

In order to apply for scholarships at Florida Gateway College, you must be admitted to the college and have a current FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on file. We have general scholarships for any major and some set aside for specific majors, such as Nursing, Agriculture, Education and more. There are also scholarships allotted by county of residence. Some scholarships are one-time awards while others may be renewable. We encourage you to complete an application for these foundations scholarship funded by our generous donors. Please be aware that some scholarships require a Thank You letter before the scholarship can be applied to your account and make sure you monitor your wolves email for award notices.

Southern Scholarship Foundation
Southern Scholarship Foundation is Accepting Applications Now for Fall 2024!
Southern Scholarship Foundation (SSF) provides rent-free cooperative living housing scholarships for students with financial need, good character, and strong academic merit. SSF provides housing scholarships, not monetary support. We operate large, dorm-style houses on or near the campuses with a leadership development focus.
Below is some basic information regarding our rent-free housing program:

We serve college students at all levels attending:

Requirements for Consideration:
- Current 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Financial Need (documented by the FAFSA SAI)
- Good Character (1 letter of recommendation, and a strong ability to live cooperatively with others and complete daily tasks)
- If qualifications met, applicant will be invited for an interview.
Requirements for Awardees:
- $300 Reservation Fee (a one-time fee that serves partially as a security deposit, due one week from accepting the scholarship)
- Semester Food & Service Bill
- Each semester, residents create a budget for groceries, utilities, internet, social activities and a few other necessities (typically an average of $1,200 for the entire semester)
- Chores to keep the houses clean and safe.
- Assist with cooking or cleaning for one dinner Monday to Thursday nights. (There is food for them to prepare on their own for all other meals.)
- Ability to live cooperatively, both with their roommate and other residents
- Maintain 3.0 or higher GPA.

Machen Florida Opportunity Scholarship (MFOS)
The Machen Florida Opportunity Scholarship (MFOS) assists historically low-income first-generation college students in meeting their college costs. First-generation in college is defined as neither of the student’s parents or legal guardians have earned a bachelor’s degree.
The MFOS program provides recipients a full grant and scholarship package to earn a bachelor’s degree at the University of Florida.
Who is eligible?
Students must be admitted into the University of Florida as a first-year student. Students are selected based on the information provided on the UF Admission Application and Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For a student to be eligible, parents’, stepparents’, or legal guardians’ combined total income must be below $40,000. Additionally, parents’, stepparents’, or legal guardians’ assets must be below $25,000.
Alfred T. Airth General Scholarship Fund
Elizabeth R. Airth provided this scholarship in memory of her husband, Alfred T. Airth, to benefit conscientious students dedicated to academic excellence. Alfred T. Airth served Suwannee County as county attorney for 20 years and then served the city of Live Oak as city attorney for 26 years. He retired in 1975. Voted Suwannee County Man of the Year in 1956, Airth developed an admirable record of community, civic and religious service to Live Oak and Suwannee County. A 1930 alumnus of UF's law school, he passed away in 1993. Elizabeth Airth passed away in 2001.
Criteria: Preference will be given to a student who is a resident of Suwannee County and in the top 15% of her or his graduating class at Suwannee High School. If no such student is eligible, then preference is given to a similar student from Branford High School.
If no student is eligible from Suwanee or Branford High Schools, then graduating students from Lafayette, Dixie, Madison, Hamilton, Taylor and Columbia counties will be considered.
This scholarship is renewable for up to four years for students maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher. All eligible students must be admitted to UF.
Alfred T. Airth Scholarship Application

The Kosove Society Scholarship is one of the most prestigious awards given to USF students. Throughout the year, scholars participate in a variety of activities including monthly community service events, business and planning meetings, and social gatherings.

Certa Law Personal Injury & Wrongful Death Scholarship
A $1,000 Scholarship For Those Affected By Life-Changing Accidents
The Certa Law Personal Injury & Wrongful Death Scholarship is an award for any current or soon-to-be undergrad who have had their life altered due to a bodily injury from an automotive or pedestrian accident, be it their own injury, that of a loved one, or an influential individual. The Certa Law Scholarship has a brief submission process, and applicants will be judged on their ability to convey the lasting effect an accident has had on their life.
Students applying must submit an essay where you explain, present, inspire, or otherwise convince us as to why you deserve to win this scholarship. There are no conditions or requirements for this essay. Please keep submissions to 5 paragraphs and 600 words at the absolute maximum. This is not a standardized test. While spelling, punctuation, and general cohesiveness will make your essay easier to read, and therefore judge, you are not being graded. The winning submission will be one which clearly conveys a non-fictional story of your life before and after an auto accident.
The deadline to apply for this scholarship is December 15th of each year.

Hagan Scholarship Foundation
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship designed to help rural students graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides students attending a public, private, charter, magnet, or STEM high school with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to eight consecutive semesters, for a total of up to $60,000 for Undergraduate degree.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a citizen of the US or have a Permanent Resident Card.
- Must attend a high school located in the U.S.
- Must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
- Must enroll in an eligible four-year not-for-profit college or university following high school graduation.
- Must maintain a four year or less graduation schedule in college.
- Must work 240 hours from January 1, 2024 until commencement of the 2024 fall semester in college. Work must be regularly scheduled employment performed under supervision for compensation.
- Applicant's Adjusted Gross Household Income reported for 2022 Federal Income tax Purposes must not have exceeded $100,000.
- Finalist must provide a copy of their FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS).
- Must apply for Federal and State grants if eligible.
- Must not have a felony conviction.
Recipients of a Hagan Scholarship must maintain a 3.25 Cumulative GPA and a four-year or less graduation schedule, must earn fourteen credit hours each fall semester and thirty credit hours each academic year excluding summer school.

OppU Achievers Scholarship
The OppU Achievers Scholarship celebrates achievement in its many forms and honors those who create opportunity for themselves and others. Founded in 2016, the scholarship provides $2,500 for current or future education costs.
To be eligible for the OppU Achievers Scholarship, a student must:
- Be enrolled full time in high school or at least part time in college, graduate, professional, or trade school.
- Possess a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0/4.0.
To apply for the OppU Achievers Scholarship, submit a short essay responding to the prompted question. In 500 words or fewer, please tell us why you’re an achiever. How have you created opportunity for yourself? How have you created opportunity for others? Did you start a small business? Are you the founder of a community program? How did you overcome the odds and make your dreams—or the dreams of others—come true? Please include links to any relevant material that demonstrates your accomplishments.
Scholarship decisions are based solely on an applicant’s essay response. Winners for the OppU Achievers Scholarship are selected four times a year, with submission deadlines on September 30, December 31, March 31, and June 30.
