In 2014, Andrea Wynn joined the Board. With the shared vision of MIT Academy, she supports success for every student using technology and creativity to enrich the learning process to produce students who excel academically, socially, culturally, professionally, and in the community.
Andrea received a Bachelors Degree in computer science with an emphasis in computer programming from Sonoma State University. Andrea also holds a Certificate and an Associates Degree in Computer & information Science. She is currently working on a Masters Degree for Instructional Design. She is a Senior Laboratory Technician for Ausenco LLC, an engineering firm that offers innovative solutions to the mining industry. In addition, Andrea is a Solano Community College Adjunct instructor who teaches CIS courses on MIT Academy’s campus. She believes it is necessary to bridge industry experience and classroom instruction.
Andrea is the parent of two MIT Academy Griffins. Casandra Walker is a Class of 2013 Alum who attends Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University majoring in molecular biology; and, Adriana Walker, a Class of 2016 senior who plans on majoring in chemical engineering.
Andrea also serves as president of the African American Parents’ Association, a mentoring network, which helps students at MIT Academy build self-esteem, acquire greater commitment to academic success and expand their career aspirations.
