At Mark Keppel Elementary School, all students in kindergarten through 5th grade participate in a high-quality program that promotes academic achievement and social competencies by infusing the visual and performing arts into the core curriculum.
The use of interdisciplinary arts instruction across all content areas increases academic rigor through a multi-disciplinary approach. 21st-century media and technology support a comprehensive visual and performing arts curriculum.
In addition to full participation in the visual and performing arts program, students in Keppel’s Dual Language Immersion Korean program participate in a research-based, 50/50 dual immersion program leading to academic and cultural proficiency in both Korean and English.

About Keppel Elementary School
-
Each trimester, all Keppel students participate in a 10-week course taught by one of our four Resident Artists in either visual arts, music, drama, or dance. Each course culminates in some type of project or performance.
Each year the school devotes an entire day to Art Day where they celebrate the arts by inviting volunteers from the community to share lessons and activities highlighting all facets of the arts and media industries.Students in grades 4 and 5 are invited to participate in Master Class. Students audition to be in the performance and train all year for a three-day production that takes place in the Spring. Students who are interested in set building and design are able to work on creating the set and props for the performances and those interested in working behind the scenes can be a part of the stage crew.
