Meet the Principal

Beverly Meagher began as Germantown Elementary School’s Principal in July of 2018. Mrs. Meagher relocated from the Binghamton, NY region and now resides in New Baltimore, NY with her husband, James. Their daughter, Madelyn, attends college in Brooklyn and their son, Ryan, lives and works in Albany.

Mrs. Meagher completed her undergraduate work in Childhood Education at Penn State University, attained a Master’s Degree in School Administration from Atlantic Union College, and completed her Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration at Binghamton University, where she is presently pursuing her Doctoral degree.

Previous to her career in education, Mrs. Meagher was a Director of Sales and Marketing for 10 years at several hotels in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts. After relocating with her family to the Binghamton, NY area, Mrs. Meagher enjoyed a new career as an elementary teacher, instructional coach and Director of Data and Instructional Progress for 15 years.

Facilitating the learning of both students and teachers was an exciting experience and provided the skills and desire to find a leadership position within a smaller elementary school. Having met many of the teachers and community members of Germantown affirmed Mrs. Meagher’s decision to call Germantown Central School District home. “I am inspired by community schools, where learning is a collaborative process experienced by adults and students alike. Our school community members have so many experiences and skills to offer our children and each other, creating a win-win situation for all.”

Leading learning in small communities is especially rewarding for Mrs. Meagher. “The commitment of families and educators to our students is humbling and provides a great opportunity to foster strong relationships and personal growth. I am extremely appreciative to be asked to continue the strong work of the Germantown Central School District and to grow and foster a positive climate where we all learn together.”
