Germantown High School is proud to announce its Class of 2022 Valedictorian and Salutatorian.
Congratulations to Valedictorian Ashley Zollo and Salutatorian Nina Meacher!
After graduation, Ashley plans on attending UAlbany to study Business Administration. Nina will be heading to Florida for college with plans of majoring in Elementary Education.
Both students said they began thinking about being at the top of the class entering their junior year.
“It was pretty stressful, but I’m excited,” said Nina, who is the President of the National Honor Society.
Ashley is also a member of the National Honor Society and said that anyone can become the Valedictorian or Salutatorian if they work hard and stay on top of their classes.
“You need to find ways to motivate yourself, but you also need to be a kid and have fun,” she said.
While both students are excited to the next step in their lives, they have one big hurdle left this year. Preparing their graduation speeches.
“It’s definitely going to be a stressful thing, compiling all of my thoughts into a speech that makes sense,” Nina said.
