Welcome to my classroom!

In First Grade...

	We will read lots of books in first grade: fiction and non-fiction.
	We will learn about letters of the alphabet and the sounds they make.
	We will write stories, opinons and teaching books. We will be published authors.
	In Math, we will learn about addition, subtraction, number bonds, time, coins, shapes and length units.
	We will participate in Restorative Circles, Second Step, and Zones of Regulation
	In Science, we will study animals and their adaptations, light and sounds, features of the Earth, and the life cycle of a plant.
	In Social Studies, we will study the family, families long-ago, families far away, Martin Luther King, Jr., and maps and globes and holidays.
	We will have homework, reading, spelling and math.
