National Honor Society

  • PBHS National Honor Society

National Honor Society recognizes those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Members create enthusiasm for scholarships by maintaining a solid GPA of 3.25 or higher, as well as a commitment to education. Members engage in service projects for our school and local community with an emphasis on the educational component. Members promote leadership with the organization as well as develop character in the students of secondary schools.

The Poston Butte chapter requires rigorous coursework of at least 2 Honors classes and/or 1 AP course per semester. Members must serve on NHS committees and complete a minimum of 30 hours of committee projects. Applications for eligible members are sent out at the end of January. Selection is based on a Faculty Council and a formal induction ceremony is held mid-April.
