Oscar Duncan
Oscar’s passion for education began over 20 years ago when he left New Jersey to attend the University of Idaho on a javelin scholarship. Desiring to make an impact in education, he chose to do his student teaching in the Compton Unified School District, a part of the inner-city Los Angeles school system.
After graduating with his master’s degree in Education, he immediately began working as a teacher, while also continuing his professional track career. It was these early experiences that helped shape Oscar’s desire to make a difference in the lives of young people. Since that time, Oscar has been in and out of the formal classroom, teaching many different subjects and working at every grade level from kindergarten to college. He has also had the opportunity to coach track and field at various college institutions.
Oscar recently moved to Arizona to continue his career in education and is excited about joining the administration team at Magma Ranch. In his spare time, he enjoys working out, coaching, and spending time with his wife Nicole and six children.
