      • Hyde Memorial Scholarship

        Individuals seeking an application for the 41st annual Frank Hyde Memorial Scholarship can secure one by emailing sports@post-journal.com. A copy of the application will be emailed to applicants in return. Deadline is June 10.

        The $1,000 scholarship is presented in memory of the late Frank Hyde, sports editor of The Post-Journal from 1945-79.

        Awarded to the outstanding college-bound athlete, male or female, from The Post-Journal/OBSERVER’s circulation areas in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties, applicants are judged on the basis of their achievement in sports, their character, academic achievement, leadership, and school and community involvement.

      • Lariat Foundation STEM Scholarship

        The Lariat STEM Scholarship is directed toward students between 18-24, from lower-income families in rural areas, who are pursuing a degree in math or science.

        Details of Scholarship

        Students awarded the scholarship, and who continue to meet eligibility requirements, will receive funding annually as follows:

        $6,000 as a Freshmen 
        $6,000 as a Sophomore
        $8,000 as a Junior
        $10,000 as a Senior

      • SeniorCare.com Aging Matters Scholarship

        Details of the SeniorCare.com Aging Matters Scholarship

        SeniorCare.com continues to bring more awareness to the key issues we face as an aging population. For the 10th consecutive year, we will be awarding an annual college scholarship to an individual who best demonstrates why "Aging Matters" to them. A $1500 scholarship will be given annually to a selected college student who currently cares for an aging loved one, works within the senior community, or intends to pursue a career that will have an impact on the elderly population. Any existing student (or incoming freshman), in good academic standing, at a 2 or 4-year accredited college can apply for this scholarship. The recipient will demonstrate a unique and admirable understanding and desire to show us that "Aging Matters" to them.

        This year the Southern Tier Legal Secretaries organization will award two scholarships, each in the amount of $500.00, to be used towards the continuing education of a high school senior with an emphasis on the legal and/or business fields. We would like to give students at your school the opportunity to apply for one of these annual scholarships which will be awarded for the Fall 2025 term.
