Danbury is actively planning for the return of our staff and students and looking forward to carrying out memorable end-of-year activities. Commencement for our seniors is at the top of our priority list. Currently the schedule for our commencement ceremony is on hold due to social distancing and stay at home orders. Once the restrictions are lifted, we will work in conjunction with state and local health, government, and educational agencies to ensure we can hold a safe, in-person ceremony for the Class of 2020. Watch our webpage and social media accounts for updates as this situation continues to develop.
As we prepare for what graduation may look like this year, our priority remains consistent :Graduation is always a celebration of the senior class and their accomplishments. (And our seniors have missed a great deal of traditional senior activities).
In addition to honoring our seniors this year, our commencement 2020 will be a celebration of the Spirit of Danbury. The work our administrators, staff, students, families, and community have done to come together during this crisis, each exhibiting grace, flexibility, patience, and courage, all of which has been inspirational. Graduation 2020 will mark a day to remind everyone of what we accomplished as a community. We will honor our seniors with diplomas and awards while we also celebrate one another for all we have done for this strong little community.
With this being a truly unique year, we have decided that our Distinguished Alumni award will be put on hold for 2020. Our goal is to ensure that our focus at this happy occasion is solely on our seniors and our amazing community.
