Dear Amelia Earhart Learning Community,
It is with immense excitement and genuine enthusiasm that I greet you as we embark on a truly special year at Amelia Earhart School of International Studies! While I had the privilege of joining this incredible community in May of last school year, I consider this upcoming year my first full year with all of you, and I am absolutely thrilled about the possibilities that lie ahead.
This year is particularly momentous as we celebrate our school's 25th Anniversary! For a quarter of a century, Amelia Earhart has been a beacon of learning, a place where young minds are nurtured to become inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring individuals. This milestone is a testament to the dedication of our students, families, and staff, past and present, who have built this remarkable institution. We'll be finding wonderful ways to celebrate this significant anniversary throughout the year, honoring our rich history while looking forward to a bright future.
As an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) school, we are uniquely positioned to offer an educational experience that goes far beyond traditional academics. Our mission, "to facilitate academic, emotional, and social growth where all students will be prepared for academic excellence and leadership," truly resonates with my own educational philosophy. I am a passionate believer in the power of inquiry-based, project-based, and experiential learning models, and these are the very cornerstones of the IB PYP framework.
At Amelia Earhart, we empower our students to be active participants and partners in their own learning journey. You'll see this come to life in our classrooms as students ask questions, explore real-world challenges, and engage in hands-on activities that foster critical thinking and creativity. Whether it's our kindergarteners exploring "How the World Works" through weather experiments, or our fifth graders delving into the impact of human actions on ecosystems, our students are constantly making connections and developing a deep understanding of the world around them. This is the heart of what makes an Amelia Earhart education so special – we're not just teaching facts, we're cultivating lifelong learners who are ready to make a positive impact locally and globally.

Si bien tuve el privilegio de unirme a esta increíble comunidad, en mayo del año escolar pasado, considero que este año que viene será mi primer año completo con todos ustedes, y estoy absolutamente entusiasmado por las posibilidades que nos esperan adelante.
Este año es particularmente trascendental ya que celebramos el éxito de nuestra escuela 25º aniversario. Durante un cuarto de siglo, Amelia Earhart ha sido un referente de aprendizaje, un lugar donde se fomenta la formación de jóvenes mentes para convertirse en personas inquisitivas, conocedoras y solidarias. Como colegio del Programa de la Escuela Primaria del Bachillerato Internacional (PEP IB), nos encontramos en una posición privilegiada para ofrecer una experiencia educativa que va mucho más allá de la academia tradicional. En Amelia Earhart, empoderamos a nuestros estudiantes para que participen activamente en su propio proceso de aprendizaje.
