• Independent Referendum Oversight and Budget Advisory Committee (IROBAC)

    The Independent Referendum Oversight and Budget Advisory Committee (IROBAC) serves as a vital advisory board dedicated to ensuring financial accountability and transparency within the school district.

    About the IROBAC

    The IROBAC is comprised of 13 members who bring their professional expertise to review and advise on the school district’s operating and capital budgets. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that the proceeds from the voter-approved one-mill ad valorem tax referendum are utilized in strict accordance with the original ballot language.

    Membership Requirements

    • The Superintendent will appoint two financial professionals to the committee.
    • At least two members must represent the following fields:
      • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
      • Financial Advisor
      • Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
      • Chief Executive Officer (CEO)/Business Owner
      • Executives or professionals in the insurance or banking industries

    This diverse range of expertise ensures a comprehensive review of the district’s financial practices.

    Role of the IROBAC

    • Review the school district’s operating and capital budget
    • Provide advisory recommendations to ensure referendum proceeds are allocated and spent as intended
    • Maintain transparency and accountability in financial operations
