Mrs. Bump with Students
Welcome to the Garfield Elementary School website, home of the Cubs!  My name is Jennifer Bump and I am excited to be the principal at Garfield for the ninth year.  I have spent thirty years serving in Clovis Unified, fourteen of which have been in Bear Nation.  In addition to being an administrator, I have also been a teacher and a counselor within our school district.  I have been married for twenty-nine years and have a son who is a graduate of CUSD and Point Loma Nazarene University.  In my free time, I love to practice yoga, read, and shop.  I love the Garfield community and look forward to coming to work each day to work with your students!

The 2024-2025 school motto is "Red-White-Blue…Cubs stay true! No matter what, we do."  Garfield students and staff are unified in their commitment to excellence in mind, body, and spirit.  Whether in the classroom, on the field, or in the community, you will see Cubs demonstrating perseverance, class, and high standards.  We are exceptionally proud of being honored with the California Pivotal Practice Award, the Civic Learning Award, the Bonner School of Character Award, and the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE) Honor Roll.  Garfield was rated last year as the 4th best elementary school in the Fresno area by Niche!  Garfield is also recognized a Platinum Level PBIS school and as a Common Sense School focusing on digital citizenship for students. Giving back to our community is a priority at Garfield! We demonstrate this through many school and community service projects each year.

Garfield is blessed to be supported by a hard-working staff and dedicated parent community.  The Cubs have a strong sense of family and school pride.  We are excited for what this school year will bring and look forward to partnering with our generous Parent Teacher Club to support our academic, athletic, and co-curricular programs.

I look forward to getting to know your family as we work together to support our students for success.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Bump
