Letters of recommendation are an important part of the college application process. Letters provide evidence of a student's academic, leadership and social emotional success. You can request letters of recommendations from teachers, school staff members, coaches, supervisors and your school counselor.
When requesting the letter, be sure to give ample time for the person to write their letter. Counselors ask at least 4 weeks notice due to the number of students on caseloads, teachers may ask the same. It's necessary to also provide some information about yourself when requesting the letter. Use this template
