Our school social work team supports the district’s mission by providing services to Students that promote the development of healthy, safe, and caring relationships among ALL LIONS. Our team strives to strengthen school, home, and community partnerships by addressing social, emotional, and environmental barriers to learning and achievement.
Our school social work team supports students, families, and staff to empower the ongoing development of each student’s potential, preparing ALL LIONS for their future.
School social work services are rooted in CASEL’s 5 Competencies which enhance the social and emotional learning of all students.Tier 1 Services:
• Classroom implementation of Second Step, a Social/Emotional learning curriculum
• Consultation with classroom teams
• Collaboration with school-based committees
• Implementation of BIMAS-2 screening assessment
• Liaison with community agencies and resources to support students and familiesTier 2 Services:
• Short-term individual counseling
• Small group counseling
• Follow-up with high risk students identified on BIMAS-2
• Review and analyze data
• Align student programming to dataTier 3 Services:
• Crisis Intervention
• Behavior intervention planning and support.
• Utilize restorative practices
• Individual and group counseling
