Summary

The Centennial School District Communicable Diseases Dashboard shows information the District collects from students, staff, volunteers, and contractors about the following communicable diseases only: COVID-19, hMPXV (‘monkeypox’), measles, meningitis, pertussis (‘whooping cough’), and varicella (chickenpox’). The information contained reflects confirmed cases* of communicable diseases in each school. *MESD, in collaboration with Multnomah Public Health and our school buildings, investigates ALL reports and adjusts the information to replicate confirmed cases of the communicable diseases listed.

Purpose

Centennial School District staff and families may opt to use the presented information when making a personal risk assessment for potential exposure to infectious diseases and to adjust their personal mitigation activities accordingly.  Individuals may choose to take preventative measures like wearing a mask, increasing hand washing at school and at home, and monitoring and reporting symptoms of illness to school or work if there appears to be an increased number of cases.

Student and Staff Case Positive Cases Report Below

As was shared in March 2022, in alignment with Multnomah County Public Health (MCPH), Centennial is utilizing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Community Level tool to determine indoor mask requirements. The tool places communities into three levels - low, medium and high - based on three key weekly indicators. 

In relation to the CDC Community Levels, masking in Centennial School District is as follows:

• Low – Masks Optional
• Medium – Masks Recommended
• High – Masks Required

When our district becomes aware of a COVID-19 positive case or exposure, we follow Oregon Department of Education’s and Oregon Health Authority’s guidance, in collaboration with Multnomah Educational Service District and Multnomah County Health Department. We’re required to follow Multnomah County Public Health’s directive related to exposure, quarantine, and notification.

**With the end of the 2021-22 school year, there will be no updates to the COVID-19 Dashboard during the summer months.

Our dashboard is typically updated weekly on Wednesdays. We will update the dashboard as data becomes available. 

Our dashboard pulls from multiple sources and these sources may be updated at different times. 

• Positive case data for students and staff is provided by the Multnomah Education Service District (MESD).
• Quarantine data is provided by the Centennial School District Student Services Department. Information is based on confirmation provided by the MESD and Oregon Health Authority (OHA).

It’s noted in the dashboard the given time period for the data and when it was last updated. 

Definitions:

Positive Cases-Students or staff members who've tested positive for COVID-19.

Quarantine off site exposure - this is due to possible exposure in the community and/or at home. 

Quarantine on site exposure - this is due to possible exposure at one of our school campuses or bus.
