Welcome to Carrizo Springs High School – Where Great Things Are Happening!
From the Desk of the Principal
It’s a brand-new school year, and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome everyone to Carrizo Springs High School—home of pride, progress, and PURPLE power!
Here at CSHS, we are pleased to share that positive developments occur daily. With a dedicated and passionate team, our aim is to continue making meaningful progress, and we are only beginning. From the classroom to the stage, from the shop to the field, CSHS is on the rise.
We are making progress in both attendance and academics! Our attendance rate has improved from previous years, and we are determined to keep that upward trend going. Attendance Matters at CSHS—our goal is to reach and maintain 90% or higher, because being present every day is the first step toward success.
Academically, our goal is to make important gains, and we are pushing forward with high expectations for continued growth, especially in Algebra I, English I, English II, and TELPAS. With intentional changes, high standards, and strategic support, we’re building momentum.
What makes this progress possible? Our staff! We have the right team in place, and they are committed to going above and beyond for our students every single day. Whether in the classroom, the counseling office, the band hall, or on the sidelines, our teachers, coaches, and staff pour their hearts into student success. They don’t just teach—they inspire, guide, and uplift.
Our CTE/CCMR programs continue to grow, offering career-ready certifications in:
  • Nursing: CNA, EKG, Phlebotomy Tech, Medical Assistant, PCT
  • Welding: AWS 9.1, Sheet Metal Structures
  • Animal Science
  • Carpentry (NCCER Core)
  • Food Science & Safety
  • MOS Expert Word certification,
  • Law Enforcement: Noncommissioned Security Officer Level II
  • Education: Educational Aide Certification
We’re proud that approximately 30% of our students were enrolled in Dual Credit courses, and that 35 seniors graduated from Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde this past year.
Our UIL Academics team once again dominated, winning the district championship for the 5th straight year, with one standout making it to the State level in Austin. Our talented One Act Play company advanced to Regionals, performing with passion and pride.
The Mean Purple Band (MPB) is charging ahead with its new UIL production, “REFLECTION”, refining their music, marching, and choreography for a strong shot at the Texas State Marching Band Contest. The MPB is also striving to boost their regional, area, and all-state qualifiers and earn another Grand Sweepstakes Award.
Our athletics program continues to push boundaries! Several teams advanced deep into the state playoffs, and one of our very own became a State Champion in Powerlifting! Our Wildcat athletes consistently demonstrate excellence, determination, and school spirit.
Our counseling department plays a crucial role in student progress, working closely with each Wildcat to keep them on track for graduation and postsecondary success. Our School of Choice (SOC) program continues to provide a meaningful and supportive path for at-risk students, and several SOC students completed their coursework and graduated in May 2025.
We’re also building stronger family and community connections! We’re thrilled to launch our brand-new PTCO – Parent Teacher Community Organization. This exciting group will bring together families, staff, and the community through events, appreciation efforts, student celebrations, volunteering, and more. It’s a fantastic way to stay involved and make a difference!
Join us for CAT meetings, parent engagement nights, and stay updated by subscribing to Parent Square and following us on Facebook.
This year, we’re aiming even higher. With the right people, the right vision, and the right heart, CSHS is moving forward—and fast.
Go Wildcats!
Let’s make this year unforgettable!
