Principal's Message

  • Hey Titan Family,

    I am honored to be serving our community as the principal of Northwest Cabarrus STEM Middle School.  At Northwest, we believe our students are progressive innovators who are collaborative, communicative, and critical thinkers.  We take pride in engaging our students with strong academic rigor and inspiring their creativity through STEM instruction.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to any of our staff members if we can assist you and your family this school year.

    Important: 4th Quarter Middle & High School Commitment Form
    Complete for Plan C Students Only (100% Online)

    March 29, 2021 (early colleges - March 15) is the beginning of the 4th and final quarter of the school year.

    If you would like your child to return to school buildings for in-person learning, please complete this Commitment Form indicating your choice.

    Also, please contact your child's school if your child is classified as one of the following:


         Exceptional Children (EC)
         English-Language Learner (ELL)
         504 plan
         McKinney Vento
         CCS Employee's Child

  • Monday, March 1, will be Encore Registration for rising 7th and 8th grade students.   • NCMS will be offering a Second Chance Core Program Feb. 26 and March 5, 12 & 19 with a final assessment on March 19th for students who failed ELA and/or Math first and/or second quarters.  Participants, please click below to access the schedule document containing all the links to live Teams meetings for each course!

  • Attendance Attestation Form

     In accordance with the CCS Attendance Guidlines, the Attendance Attestation Form is to be completed within 3 days by a parent/guardian when a student is marked absent due to not attending homeroom in Microsoft Teams. The parent/guardian is to attest that the student did attend school on the date marked absent by selecting the method(s) of attendance listed on the form HERE.


    * It is recommended that parents check Power School after 3 days to verify that attendance has been corrected

    Chromebook Support

     

    There are several known issues that are occurring with Chromebooks that were distributed to students by their schools.  You can now go to our Chromebook Troubleshooting Webpage to view instructions and visual guides on how to fix the most common occurrences, plus, more information will be posted as need be throughout the school year.  Thank you so much!  #allNthistogether

  • Middle School Athletics Update

     

    spring sports There will be a MANDATORY ALTHLETICS PARENT Meeting on March 16th at 6:30pm via Microsoft Teams for all Spring sports for the 2020-2021 school year........the link can be found our Athletics Page HERE or our @NCMSAthletics Twitter feed.  Baseball, Soccer and Volleyball tryouts will begin March 22nd immediately after school.  Track tryouts will begin March 29th.  Any student wanting to try out will need a completed athletic registrationa current physical, follow ALL COVID RELATED PROTOCOLS, meet ACADEMIC eligibility requirements, and attend the March 16th MANDATORY meeting. More detailed information will be given at the meeting, and if you have a sport specific question please contact raymond.hylton@cabarrus.k12.nc.us  #goTitans

    Come join live chats with STEM Professionals in the areas such as veterinarian medicine, cybersecurity and environmental studies every other Friday @ 11am starting on December 4th!  All CCS students 6-12 are invited to a Microsoft Teams live meeting - click HERE to access the District page with the meeting links.  #STEMon  #CCSSTEM

  • h Our NCMS Student Council has begun collecting Box Tops for Education points to raise money for our school, however, things are being done a little different this year.  There is now an App that you will need to download and use to scan receipts......no more cutting boxes!  Please view the promotional flyer HERE created by one our Student Council members for additional information.  Oh, did we mention there are prizes depending upon how much money is raised?  #moremotivation

    There will be a Curbside Book Checkout from our Media Center every Weds. from 10am - 2pm in the car rider circle! Students will need to submit HOLDS in Destiny, the media system (available in Student Links or Mrs. York's Media Page), by 7pm the evening of the week they wish to check out a book.   • The Cabarrus County school district is pleased to offer a Voluntary Insurance Program which is available for purchase at minimal cost, to all elementary, middle and high school students. Please refer to the Voluntary Insurance Brochure below for details and pricing. The plans are underwritten by an "A" rated company and are endorsed by the N.C. High School Athletic Association and the N.C. Athletic Directors Association.
