VEX IQ Robotics

As we begin our third year, we will again have 4 competitive VEX IQ Robotic Teams here at Coltrane-Webb. These teams are made up of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade boys and girls, coached by Mrs. Elana Moore and Mr. Lance Pfeifer. Although they are four separate teams, we act as one, cheering each other on, supporting each other, helping by critically thinking through issues and so much more.

Highlights from the 2018-2019 season included two Sportsmanship Awards from two separate competitions and ALL of our teams qualifying for State Competition! Awesome job by everyone on the team! We also proved several things: 1) We proved that, YES, girls can compete in the world of robotics 2) We proved that involvement in a robotics program inspires teamwork, critical thinking, decision making and the best of the best boost in morale for our kids! 3) We proved that VEX IQ Robotics is an amazing part of our CougarNation's culture!

Students typically practice on Thursday mornings, beginning at 7:15AM in the Robotics Cottage. Competition Season begins in January. 

• To participate, attendance at a Parent Information Meeting is mandatory. This meeting will be held on Thursday, September 12th at 7:15AM. Bring your student!
• Applications will be made available at that meeting and are DUE September 19th - No applications will be accepted after this date - Sorry, no exceptions.
• Because of the high interest in joining, selection will be made by lottery and those selected will be notified.
