Improving the Quality of Life for Patients

  • Students learn the fundamentals of patient care necessary for entry-level employment in health care facilities such as nursing homes, hospitals, medical offices and home health care. They gain the skills to provide physical and emotional care for patients unable to independently care for themselves. The program offers both classroom and lab settings to learn applicable skills and theory. Students participate in role play activities as patients and caregivers with their fellow classmates. They work directly with patients as part of their clinical assignments, providing personal/hygiene care in a nursing home setting. Students who complete the New York State required classroom and clinical hours are eligible for the New York State Certified Nurse Assistant licensing exam.

Please Note: Industry dress code is strictly enforced including no artificial nails or artificial eyelashes. To participate in required clinical hours, NYS Health Industry vaccine requirements apply including COVID-19.
