Auditioning for Vocal Jazz 2018-19?
Vocal Jazz is open to singers of all voice parts by audition and is an advanced group.
Vocal Jazz mainly rehearses on Thursday afternoons or evenings.
Auditions will be held the second two weeks of school!
Pick up an info form and lead sheets and sign up for an audition time the first few days of school outside the choir room.
In the five minute audition, please be ready to:
Sing one of the two songs with the recorded accompaniment (links below).
In your performance, please sing the tune the first time through, and improvise the second time through. This can be scat, a variation on the melody (changing notes, rythms, or text) or a combination of the two. Please show your musicality - most people who audition are new improvisers and that's ok!!!!
