This course presents new vocabulary and grammar structures of Spanish and expands the cultural themes of the first level. We continue to work with the Realidades series(middle –school and high-school). My goal is to help each student develop the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Teacher Interns: This year we are very fortunate to have 2 teaching interns (Colombia and Spain). They will be working with the students on an individual basis and in class. Our teaching interns are a valuable resource for the students and they should take full advantage of their knowledge and expertise.

Extra help: I am available for help during Student-Help. My schedule is posted outside my classroom.

Grade Distribution:      20% class participation

                                        20% classwork

                                        20% homework

                                        40% quizzes/tests

How can you help at home:

Encourage excellent attendance.

Check in to make sure homework is being done ( melissa_manghietr_bcsd.org).

When students are having problems suggest they see me for help.

Encourage them to talk to our teaching interns.

Discuss issues that appear in the news that have to do with Spanish speaking countries.

Every once in a while ask, “What did you do in Spanish class?”
