Primary Project

  • Primary Project is a program for youngsters in kindergarten through third grade that provides early identification and prevention of school adjustment problems. When a child is accepted for the program, goals are established for that child, and a paraprofessional is assigned to work with the youngster outside the classroom for 30-45 minutes once or twice a week. Paraprofessionals work with the children individually or in small groups under close professional supervision.

Family crises such as divorce, prolonged illness, death, alcoholism or drug abuse may suggest a need for support through Primary Project. Parents experiencing problems such as these can speak with the school counselor in strict confidence.
