Our vision is that all students in the Brighton Central School District will have real time access to technology tools which will enhance learning and increase productivity in order to achieve the desired state. With K-7 2:1 and grades 8-12 nearing full-scale 1:1 implementation, we can continue the efforts toward our desired state for student learning where:

    • Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology.

    • Students use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance, to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others.

    • Students apply digital tools to gather, evaluate, and use information.

    • Students use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources.

    • Students understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and practice legal and ethical behavior.

    • Students demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems, and operations

The District initiative is aimed at providing students with personalized learning experiences that stimulate creativity and imagination as well as maximize learning opportunities both in and outside of the classroom. Our goal is to create an environment where students experience, connect, and interact with the world in ways that traditional textbooks and curriculum alone can’t provide. We believe technology should be a daily tool for students and not an event like going to the computer lab.
