Meet Mrs. Ureles

Hi Everyone! I thought you might like to know a little bit about me!

I really love being a teacher! I grew up in Austin, Texas, where I rode in rodeos and was a member of the Future Farmers of America.  I even had a champion lamb at the County Fair!! Although I grew up in the country and raised sheep, dogs, and pigeons, I also traveled to many beautiful locations in the world!  My favorite thing to do is to learn and I fell in love with studying ancient cultures.  I attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a degree in Anthropological Archaeology.  After graduation, I worked as a field archaeologist for several years in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and even here in New York!  I obtained my MS in Inclusive Childhood Education from Nazareth College, and I am certified in Childhood Education and Teaching Students with Disabilities.

I have been married for 27 years to my wonderful husband, Jeff, who grew up here in Brighton and went to Council Rock just like you!  We have two amazing children--Sonia (a senior at SUNY Buffalo), and Ben (a junior at George Washington University)--who also went to Council Rock! We also have two very silly dogs, Happy and Deeds (they did not go to Council Rock!!!).

In my free time, my favorite things to do are go for hikes and read many books! I am so excited for the amazing year of learning we will have this year!
