    Accelerated Math Program Information

After careful research of enrichment math programs, the FRES Math Committee decided that a solid foundation needed to be a vital part of this program and that entrance to this accelerated math program needed to be based on student performance. This committee therefore established criteria for identification of math talented students. A math selection committee meets each June to review those students who have met all four criteria. After this review, which includes a discussion with the student’s math teacher, a letter is sent to parents inviting their child into the program. Parents make the final decision regarding their child’s placement and are asked to return a signed permission form to French Road Elementary School.

Our goal is always to provide a curriculum that is both engaging and stimulating, but not frustrating. We continue to reassess all students yearly for entrance into this advanced math program.
