WikiProject Orienteering is a collaboration to improve articles related to orienteering. This includes both orienteering from a sport and recreation point of view.
Article monitoring[edit]
Articles are monitored from different aspects to gain information where work is needed:
- A cleanup listing per category or as a table generated weekly by CleanupWorklistBot.
- Recent changes (50 entries, 7 days) or (500 entries, 30 days), Open watchlist
- A list of new articles is generated by User:AlexNewArtBot bot with predefined rules (log page).
Article assessment[edit]
To add an article to this project for assemssment, and to have it counted in the assessment table (above), use Template:WikiProject Orienteering. To use it, place it at the top of the article's talk page:

Trophies[edit]
The highest possible classification FA class was assigned on January 2006 to article Amateur radio direction finding. The article was downgraded on April 2010 to C class due to lack of references.
Improvement of articles[edit]
Based on the classification and importance, a list of articles that needs to be improved most of all exist. The goal is to improve the articles to match good Wikipedia standards. The list is based on the WikiProject classifications. Please, help expand these articles if you have something to contribute.
Assessment guidelines[edit]
Orienteering articles has assessment guidelines that helps with assessing importance for articles. The guidelines doesn't give indications in all cases but gives help in finding what important in Wikipedia from orienteering point of view.

Orienteering barnstar[edit]
It is the custom to reward Wikipedia contributors for hard work and due diligence by awarding them a barnstar. To give the award to someone, just place the image on their talk page, and say why you have given it to them. If you are sure the barnstar is appropriate, don't be shy!
Orienteering has its own barnstar named Orienteering barnstar. To give a user the orienteering barnstar place it on the user's talk page with following wiki syntax:
