Welcome back for a great 2023 - 2024 school year! I am currently a 6th grade math teacher here at Biloxi Upper Elementary School. I previously taught at North Bay Elementary and Michel 6th grade, and Biloxi Junior High. I have been teaching for 25 years, with the majority of those years being in 6th grade. I enjoy teaching math and spending time with my family. I have three children; Amber, Anna and Ethan. Amber is a registered nurse, Anna is a junor in college at Mississippi State, and Ethan is in 11th grade at Biloxi High School. I have one grandchild, Zoey.
I am looking forward to a productive and successful school year; hence, there are several items that will bolster your child's experience in 6th grade Math. First, I believe that a structured classroom setting with an assertive discipline plan is essential for a productive learning environment; therefore, I have implemented classroom rules and consequences according to the school-wide discipline plan. Next, communication is extremely important for the success of your child. Please keep me informed with the most up-to-date information, so as to facilitate an open line of communication regarding your child's performance both academically and behaviorally.
