Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! 

I am looking forward to working with my students in 7th grade English Language Arts and Leadership. 

The 2023-24 school year is my 22nd year in education.  Although this will be my second year teaching at Woodward, I taught English at Bainbridge High School for 13 years and was an Instructional Coach, EL and HiCap Facilitator, and Dean of Students at Sakai. My first 5 years of teaching I worked as a middle school English and Social Studies teacher in California and Virginia. I have taught students in grades 5-12 for 19 years.

Recently, I have also served as an Assistant Principal at Sammamish High School in the Bellevue School District and a Principal at Chimacum Junior Senior High School. I am excited to focus on instruction and the classroom because I enjoy getting to know my students and share my love for language arts. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies!

My educational background includes a BA in English, MA in Humanities, MA in Teaching with a focus in differentiation, and a Principal certificate through UW's Danforth Educational Leadership program.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, going for walks, spending time with my family, and gardening.

All assignments posted in Skyward have descriptions of the work available in our Google Classroom.  Additionally, an agenda and the lesson for the day is posted daily in our classroom stream.
