Mrs. McCartney is a 3rd grade teacher at Attalla Elementary School.  She began her teaching career in 1989 in Tuscaloosa City.  She has taught every grade in elementary school, either in Alabama or in Tennessee.  She is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of Alabama.  She enjoys reading historical fiction novels, trying to keep her plants alive, and playing with her grandchildren.  She is married to Todd McCartney, owner and operator of Quality Fire Extinguishers. She has two daughters; one is a surgical nurse at Riverview and the other is a CPA in Nashville.  She also has two perfect grandchildren.
