Ms. Denise Wright

Hello Wildflower families! I’m so excited to be your new Wildflower school counselor! I understand the many challenges that kiddos are facing today and I am eager to provide them with the tools to be successful in their academic, career and social/emotional endeavors. As a school counselor, I will work with kids in one-on-one settings, as well as through small groups and classroom lessons. My goal is to ensure EVERY child has an equal playing ground to be successful in school.

Many times, people hear the term ‘counselor’ and assume I provide therapy. However, my role is not that of a mental health counselor, but rather, I work from a prevention stand point by providing skill-building lessons on resilience, self-regulation, study skills, bullying and other social skills kids need to be successful in school and in life. If your child is in need of mental health counseling, I am happy to provide referrals to assist your family.

On this webpage, you will find a variety of resources to help your family thrive mentally, emotionally and academically. Please feel free to print and use any of these resources for your personal use.

Please do not be shy to reach out to me if you feel your child is struggling emotionally or socially.
