    Ms. Brodeur

    ABOUT ME:

Hi!  My name is Ms. Brodeur, and I'm excited and honored to be your child’s teacher!

Here is a little about my background.   My bachelor's degree and teaching credential are from the University of California, Riverside.  I have a Masters Degree in Educational Technology from Azusa Pacific University, This will be my twenty-eighth year of teaching five and six-year-old children.  I have taught kindergarten for twenty-one years and first grade for six years.

My biggest classroom rule for myself and for my students is this: treat others the same way that we would like to be treated. That is why I do not believe in yelling at students. Humiliation and sarcasm have no place in my classroom. Instead, I prefer providing positive motivation first and loving and appropriate consequences when necessary. Making mistakes is a welcome aspect of the learning process.

One thing to know about me is that I love animals! My dog's name is Archie. He is a Doberman my family adopted from a rescue. Archie loves to play, snuggle and take my things into the yard to get my attention. His best friend is Holly, a Golden Retriever.  She loves to go swimming in “her” pool. In fact, it's hard to get Holly to come back out of the pool! In addition, my family is now fostering two formerly feral cats named Charlie and Jamie.

Other interests I have are music and learning to use new technology. Currently, I am learning to use animation software.

I look forward to getting to know each one of my students and their interests!
