• Message From The Counselor

    Hola Students and Families,

Welcome back!!! The 2022-2023 school year is here!

A few months ago, we were all in school doing our daily tasks, learning and spending time with our friends.

Sincerely, none of us were ready for what came about with the spread of the Corona-Virus or COVID-19!

Overnight, life became very different for all of us. We were teaching and learning from home for the last two months of the 2019-2020 school year instead of in the classroom. Despite of it all, we attempted to stay connected with each other on-line or through other forms of technology. Your teachers did their best in providing opportunities to help you continue your learning with on-line resources and your parents helped you in figuring it all out.  It wasn't easy, but we all helped each other and we will continue to do so as we start this 2020-2021 new school year!

Our health and safety is important that is why as of right now, we will need to remain teaching and learning from home. The hope is we will be able to go back to school soon in order to see our teachers and our friends. Although at this moment in time we have no idea when that time will be exactly, we can look for the good things in this situation. When we face difficult times, there are always some good things that can come out of it.  These are called the gifts in times of hardship.

The first gift is the gift of time! So the bright side now is that we have MORE TIME!  We have time to learn new things, read a great book, do a craft or science project and rest. This wonderful gift of time is precious, so try to remember that.

The second gift is the gift of being together.  In the past, our lives were busy and sometimes our family members were going in all different directions. So we have had the opportunity to be together with our family and loved ones.  This is a wonderful gift that can continue helping us in becoming even stronger together.  You have had the time to put in place opportunities of playing games, make things, watching movies, talking with one another which can lead in getting to know one another better. Continue enjoying yourself, your time, and your family. Try to find ways to help each other while you are learning through the distance.

I have been thinking about and have been missing everyone!  I look forward to seeing you all again soon! In the meantime, please take care and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Your School Counselor

    Ms. Rodarte
