Hello and welcome to the WorkAbility 1 Program web page.  My main goal is to teach students that becoming an independent adult should not be a scary transition but a calm and smooth one.  We provide the necessary tools and resources so that students can build the workskills that are needed to obtain part-time or full-time employment in their community.

I also am the person that seeks various work locations that are willing to support students and help them learn work skills at their place of business.  I look forward to working with students who are willing to demonstrate the willingness to be trained.

  • Where Do I start

At Alvord Unified School District WorkAbility 1 Program (WA1) is a training program for special education students in their senior year or for the 18-22 Transition Program.  WA1 provides the opportunity to obtain career awareness and marketable job skills while completing their education.  WA1 is a school and community transition program working to benefit students, employers, and the community at large.  WA1 program promotes independent living and provides comprehensive pre-employment and follow-up services for youths in special education.  WA1 is administered and funded by the California Department of Education, Special Education Department.
